BIID oversees the financial structuring of the projects it supports and organises the mobilisation of the resources required for their implementation. Based on the business model, capital requirements, resources already secured, projected cash flows and the risk profile, it develops a financial architecture tailored to the characteristics and level of maturity of each transaction.

A financial architecture tailored to each transaction
The BIID combines, in accordance with established requirements, public or concessional financing, debt, equity or quasi-equity, guarantees, risk-sharing mechanisms, preparatory resources and technical assistance. It ensures these elements complement one another, specifies the instruments required and structures the financial terms necessary for the project’s progress.
On this basis, BIID identifies and assesses financial institutions, development banks, funds, investors, donors and specialised mechanisms whose mandates are relevant to the operation. It prepares the proposal for partners, organises targeted approaches, facilitates due diligence and supports discussions right through to financial proposals, preconditions and the preparation of contracts.
This mobilisation is carried out whilst respecting the specific responsibilities of each party. BIID coordinates the alignment between the project and the available resources, whilst each financier retains control over its own due diligence, approval procedures and commitment decisions.
